- Reduce environmental load with headphones, quieter lighting, written instructions, movement breaks and visible launchpads for keys, medication and work items.
- Protect the basics: regular meals with protein, water nearby, consistent sleep cues and exercise you can actually repeat.
- Put friction around digital triggers: disable non-essential notifications, keep the phone out of reach during focus blocks, and use app limits as guard rails rather than tests of willpower.
- Use body doubling, timers or a two-minute start when stress causes freeze.
- If symptoms suddenly worsen, interfere with work or relationships, or feel linked to hormones, sleep disorder, anxiety, depression or medication timing, discuss it with a GP or ADHD specialist.
