Why does blood pressure and heart rate monitoring matter so much for stimulant medications specifically?

Very rarley, and i mean VERY rarley stimulants can make an underlying heart condition much worse. Even more rarley they can create a heart condition. Seeing obs regularly is for most prescribers a legal requirement and also lets us know and see if something is starting to emerge that we need to be worried about. BP and HR are an easy test you can do at home without much expertise but they tell us a lot!
