Supplements can be a difficult one. Many of them dont have peer reviewed data, and the ingredients often arnt subject to the same stringent tests and standards as medication. A balanced way to consider it would be a 2 step process. 1) does it have anything obviously incompatible with the ADHD medication (for example st Johns Wort) 2) if its stupid and it works, its not stupid. if you gain benifift from it and it doesnt interact negativley with your ADHD medication, then use it, but be cautious. My rule with prescribing is always one thing at one time. So I would suggest if you can tolerate it, stop supplements while you titrate your adhd medication. then, when you are on a stable dose consider reintroducing your chosen supplement slowly and always talk to your clinician about it.
