FocusPath uses secure artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools to assist clinicians in recording, transcribing, and summarising telehealth consultations. These tools are designed to improve documentation efficiency and accuracy while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professional oversight, as required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the UK GDPR.
Your teleconsultation may be automatically transcribed using a secure third-party tool (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare).
AI models may analyse the transcript and intake information to generate a draft clinical note or patient summary for clinician review.
All AI-generated materials are reviewed and finalised by a licensed clinician before being added to your medical record.
AI outputs do not constitute medical advice or diagnosis.
Important notes:
(1) Where data are processed outside the UK (e.g., in the United States or the EEA), FocusPath ensures appropriate safeguards under UK GDPR Article 46, including the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) adopted by the ICO.
(2) All identifiable data are encrypted and stored securely within FocusPath’s UK-based AWS environment.
(3) De-identified data used for quality improvement and development are anonymised to the standard that they cannot be re-identified by any reasonably available means.
(4) You may withdraw your consent for AI-assisted processing at any time by contacting support@fastreat.co.uk. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, nor will it affect your access to care.
No automated decision-making: AI outputs are always reviewed by a licensed clinician. No decision affecting your care is made solely by AI.
Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA): FocusPath has completed a DPIA for all AI tools used, as required by UK GDPR Article 35. A copy is available on request.
Data retention: Audio recordings and raw transcripts are deleted automatically 30 days after the final clinical note is approved, unless a longer retention is required by law or clinical necessity.
No detriment for refusal: You have the right to refuse or withdraw consent for AI-assisted processing (including for quality improvement purposes) without any negative impact on your access to services or the quality of care you receive.
By continuing with your consultation, you acknowledge that:
a. AI tools may assist in documentation and transcription for direct care purposes during your visit. You will be informed at the start of each consultation. If you do not wish to have AI used for direct care, please tell your clinician – we will respect your choice without affecting your care.
b. A qualified clinician remains fully responsible for the accuracy of your medical record.
You may withdraw your consent for AI-assisted direct care processing by informing your clinician at the start of any consultation. You may withdraw your consent for secondary use (quality improvement) at any time by emailing support@fastreat.co.uk. Withdrawal will take effect within 14 days and will not apply retroactively.
