had a very positive experience with Chimeogo during my ADHD assessment. She created a calm, respectful space where I felt genuinely listened to rather than judged. She took time to explore my history in depth, asked thoughtful follow-up questions, and explained each part of the assessment process clearly. What stood out most was her balanced approach – clinically thorough, yet warm and human.

Getting to Know Dr Asogwa

What is your journey into psychiatry, and what inspired you to specialise in ADHD?
The journey into psychiatry started with curiosity about how people think, feel, and connect. After earning an MBBS and gaining GMC registration in the UK, working across acute psychiatry, PICU, and CAMHS revealed a common pattern—many brilliant, creative people struggling without knowing why. Discovering ADHD opened a world where understanding could replace frustration. Training in ADOS-2 and DIVA-5 deepened that passion. Each assessment now feels like giving someone a language for their experience, and that's deeply rewarding.
What is your philosophy or approach when it comes to treating ADHD?
ADHD care works best when it's personal, practical, and empowering. Every story is unique, so the process begins with listening. A structured approach follows—using tools like DIVA-5, medication when appropriate, and daily strategies that build focus and confidence. The goal isn't perfection; it's helping people understand their minds and create systems that let them thrive, not struggle.
How do you see telepsychiatry improving access to ADHD care?
Telepsychiatry has changed everything. It removes distance, stigma, and long waiting times. People can be seen from home, where they feel safe and open. It means parents, young people, and busy adults no longer have to choose between care and daily life. Most importantly, it makes expert ADHD assessment accessible to everyone, not just those near a clinic.
What's one thing you hope your patients feel after their first session with you?
The goal is for every patient to leave feeling heard and understood. ADHD can make people doubt themselves for years; the first session should feel like a turning point. Even before a diagnosis, there should be a sense of relief—someone finally gets it, listens, and takes them seriously.
What would you like to share with your patients as you begin this journey with FasTreat?
FasTreat stands for accessible, compassionate, and forward-thinking ADHD care. Patients can expect honesty, empathy, and clear answers. The aim is to make the process simple, supportive, and life-changing. ADHD isn't a flaw—it's a different way of thinking, and with the right guidance, it can become a strength.
If you could describe your approach to ADHD care in three words, what would they be?
In one sentence, what does ADHD support mean to you?
ADHD support means helping people turn self-doubt into self-understanding and giving them the tools to live with confidence and purpose.
