Are there alternative routes if my GP refuses Shared Care altogether?

it can be really frustrating when this happens. Even when all of the above information is provided, a GP is not obliged to enter into a shared care agreement. They may decline because: • Their practice policy does not support shared care for ADHD, and they might not have the expertise within their own team. ADHD is a specalist area of practice • Their local ICB guidance restricts it. some ICB's restrict it to NHS services only. • • The specialist is outside the NHS or not recognised under local arrangements. It is always worth asking to meet with your GP to discuss it, and if you feel concerned you can ask to speak to another GP or escalate your concerns. Its worth taking a calm, measured approach. Sometimes you can find another GP in your local area who covers your adress, have a conversation with them and see if they accept shared care. it is also worth writing to your ICB and expressing your concern or asking to meet with them about this.
